Ok ... my trip to Japan CANCELLED -snif- till 2007 or 2008
I still have my lugged steel frame though, and last week I got fed up with the drivetrain and crappy wheels.
Some of you will insist me on using the search feature, others to foggetaboudit and go for a new bike.
BUT: I heart my steel frame - stiff enough and bouncy enough - and I would like to have some recomendations for wheelset, tires, cranks, rims, hub, etc
Let us call it "mechanically sound" beater project.
My plan = 400$
Gearing = anywhere between 75 and 80 gear inches will do.
BB = I have a new one already on the bike, square tapered.
Wheels = 700C
Tires = 25 with subtle thread
Hubs = track
Cog = 1/8 track.
Chainring = track or BMX?
Chain = track or BMX?
For those who like suggesting manufacturers and prices, you will be most welcome to post.
For those who like to clown around in these kinds of threads, well .... you are welcome too.
Remember = bottom line is 400$ -
