Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Track bars + cloth tape + shellac

Because I like to have an idea of how things look before I do them...

Are there any pictures of track bars (pref. 123's), fully wrapped in cloth tape (none of that half-wrap crap), shellacked, without brake levers?

Has/does anyone use this setup? Thoughts? Comments?

Will you accept 3 out of 4? I have fully diamond wrapped, shellacked with a cross lever... If you want I will take some shots and post them later, either today or tomorrow.

sounds pretty and uncomfortable. and those bars and that stem would be joined until you were willing to trash half of your hard work. still, it looks pretty cool in my mind.

how does the leather stay in place? is there some sort of adhesive? it seems like it would slide around after a while.

For $60 bucks, I bet Brooks has figured it out.

What I'd really love is what this Cinelli (http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Mike-Shorts-Bike-Photos?page=1) has - leather sew-up bar tape. I've seen that bike in person. It is amazing.

I just wrapped my Soma Major Taylors in black cloth, but I didn't shellac them. I can post a picture if you wanna see.

Pictures would be great. I too would be running a 'cross lever on my bars, but am interested in seeing what the shoulders look like without brake levers (seems like the same people who shellac cloth tape also like running non-aero brake levers on their track bars..)

How's the grip once the tape is shellacked? Does it become more slippery or more grippy?

I realize that once the tape and shellac go down, I won't be swapping bars for a long time after that... which is partly the motivation. I'm pretty happy with my position right now, and shellacking the bars will keep me from obsessively tinkering with a setup that doesn't need messed with. That, and I think it'll look pretty good.

And keevohn, I like the shellac/cloth tape combo. I've always liked cloth tape, and this makes it last a lot longer. It's not terribly uncomfortable either, though nowhere near as soft as cork.
