Hokay. Everyone else gets to ask dumb noob questions that have been answered 1000 times. So here's my turn.

So I put stans in a tube each on mine and my chicks bike to see if it works (Prick of a job that is to with only the bottle and the squeze top it comes with). Went for a ride yesterday and she gets a flat on the stanless tube. So we get home and I go to fix it today only to find my stanless tube is down as well. I find it's got 3 thorns in it so I don't know how I got home. Anyway fixed the punctures on both and stanned them up, so thought I'd go and have a look at the stanned tubes that didn't flat. Anyway, I find a heap of thorns in my stanned tube as well, but it had held it's pressure. So I thought I'd pull the thorns out to see what would happen, only to have the tube pissing air. Not paying attention I let the hole spin down to the bottom and the stans started pissing out. So I spun the wheel and the holes stopped leaking and pissing stans.

So anwyay 2 questions.

1. Do you pull your thorns or leave them in there? I'd personaly think the thorn would eventually chew the tube up, but who really knows?

2. In my case where I pulled the thorn out, it started pissing air and stands then re-sealled, should I pull the tube and patch it, or will it be right just with the stans sealing it back up?

pull out the thorns ... and let the stans seal it up

stans has some micro particles that patch the wholes... u shouldnt need to patch them

Thanks heaps for that gmoneyhobbit. Got to admit I don't really know how the stuff works.

BTW, how do you guys get it in your tubes? The bottle I bought just has a cap you screw on the bottle that looks like the top of a glue bottle. I cut the end off that so it fits nicely over the valve stem, but getting the stuff in there is a pain as the valve keeps gunking up.

is it shraeder or presta?

shraeder you should be able to remove the inner piece and squeeze it in easily..

i dont kno about the presta though

i run tubeless.. so its more or less... fill up the lil cup .. and poor it in.

It's presta unfortunately. Yeah, I might have to think about going the tubeless route.

there are so many thorns out here that i don't bother pulling them out anymore, that was a year ago...in fact, i've got a tack in my front wheel right now, been in there for 40 miles...i don't plan on pulling it, so i can show and tell everybody...wish i could get a kick back from Stan's :)
