A friend of mine is very happy with these, in 700x25, on his solo. Has anyone tried them on a tandem? He claims they ride exceptionally well. Pricey though.

What works on a solo does not always transfer to same results/feel on a tandem.
And price alone does not dictate whether tire is good. Performance used to run some in-house tires for around 10 bucks and they rode and held up as good as the pricier brands. Trial and error will eventually get you results!
We currently are running Maxxis Detonnator (front) and Re-Fuse (rear) tires with good results for our tandem team.

I've got Specilaized 700x25 MOndo S-Works, which is their top-of-the-line racing tire, on my Co Motion. They're a bit lighter than the Roubaix but probably similar in many respects. Check teh Specialized websie for those details. They're a nice tire: less supple than the COnti Gator but better handling. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a true racing tire on their tandem.
