Havent you already asked this question? And is that in cdn or usd?

Perhaps the Bighit FSR III?

Also, "good geometry" is subjective. Do you like a really slack HA, or are you looking for somehting a little steeper that can also be ridden on standard freeride trails (up and down)

yeah i asked a while ago but i just got hooked up with some race face parts so im gunna build a new bike just wasnt positive what everyone would say if i didnt give a suggestions on the frames i were looking at.

ok...but is your price in cdn or usd. You could be looking for something in the us and then planning on coming up here for the camp?

huckinator

The price in usd

Ok and the second question. What do you consider a good geometry. Do you want a pure dh bike, or a good fr bike that is also capable of being pedalled uphill?

huckinator
02-26-06, 01:06 PM
I dont want pure dh but i want to be able to do dh and still tare up freeride stuff with some LIGHT uphilll

Ok I would look at a bike thats a little taller in the rear and not a super slack HA. Maybe 66 to 67. Bighit would work well but your price range is good enough for a solid bike. Some suggestions

Transition Dirtbag
Santa Cruz VPFree
Yeti ASX

There are a tonne others in that range, and your price is high enough where you have a lot of choice. So just keep the geometry in mind. I would test ride a couple and see which you like more. Oh and don't wait to come to canada to buy it...it will be more $$$$$$$

What about the transition gran mal does anyone have any experience with this bike?

Maelstrom

Its a single pivot pure dh bike. Very slack geometry. No one will have experience with it as it is smoking brand new. By reputation of the company, it will be solid, and the warranty is good. I don't think it will be stellar for the riding your described.

So the type of frame you are looking for is somewhat like a Kona Stinky? Or is that pure freeride.

That dirtbag is gonna be hard to beat.If you can come up with a few more bucks look at the Specialized SX trail frame.

Wouldnt the big hit better then sx trail for freeriding and down hill?

What bike would you suggest if i were to be doing no uphill just downhill and freeride.

Will the satb dee-lux perfrom better freeriding then stinky?

Maelstrom
02-27-06, 08:24 PM
...what do you mean by freeriding. Huge hucks, lift assisted etc?

The past two threads I have covered everything. Geometry and how they ride etc...reread and then read again PLEASE. I will give you this hint

Stab is a dh bike with a stacker geometry
Stinky is a steeper geometry and more fr/big trail oriented.

Good luck and go test ride some, it sounds like you haven't put your leg over a single one of these, and internet conjecture, at its best, is just guessing. You have some information now go figure out what you like.

i wish they had parks with lifts in florida :(, the lift would just go sideways, it wouldnt even be a lift. i cant wait till i move out of here, goin to ohio or a very hilly and mountain bike friendly state, where zombies punch sharks and hurricanes dont come every other weekend.

thanks i guess
