I just got 5, er 6 seasons out of my sealed bearings. Was riding last night and trashed the hub, but that's 6 seasons with the original bearings, not that I was going for a record, and now that I'm replacing them, I may as well replace the bearings in all my hubs.

That's pretty impressive, especially since I have two friends whose surly hubs are all F'd up after 2 seasons.

replace with phil bearings to get a "phil" hub, less the street cred.

Once you've burned through a set of bearings in a Surly or Formula hub, you don't NEED the street cred you'd get from buying Phils

Three days ago you said you needed to replace your Surly rearwheel because the hub was ****ed up.

You must have got the good bearings. I get around a year out of mine before they get rough.

Granted, the amount of salt applied to the boston streets + daily winter use may have something to do with that.
