I'm looking for a rear MTB wheel with narrower spacing than the current ones-which are 135mm-I think?Didn't 26" MTB wheels initially start with maybe 126 or 130 spacing?I need 126,but could get away with 130mm.
Any idea where to look for one.I have searched Ebay MTB wheel 130 - title and listing-but the ones I turned up were real cheapo ones.
I don't care what freewheel-cassette-it takes.Should be easy enough to track down one of them.Thanks.Charlie
PS-I have a couple of MTB's,but this is for a road frame that I want to hybridize.Thanks.

I saw a couple of old, but new, ringle freewheel hubs on ebay recently.. I think they were 130mm and pretty sweet. Look for Bullseye, or phil wood too.

mcoine-thanks.I'll search for them.Bullseye-boy I haven't seen that name in a long time-.They were the derailleur pulley guys waaay back when.Thanks.Charlie

why not just get a road hub and lace it to a mountain rim?

Like a tiagra/105 hub to an old model Mavic.

Just looking at nashbar, you could get parts to build a new wheel for about $50.

Or if you don't like diy, your lbs could do it for $75 probably.
