I read that the TDF is started in 1903 , so it should be 100 years old in 2003 , but i read somewhere that the 2005 TDF is the 92nd...can anyone explain?

They lost 10 tours due to World War 1 and World War 2. 2003 was the 100th anniversary, but 2012 will be the 100th race.
