Since I'm mainly riding my fixed gear road bike these days, I've got time to work on my BMX.
Last year, I devised a linkage to get my straddle cable hanger behind the seat tube on my Macneil. This worked pretty well. Its got a lot of mechanical advantage.
Recently, I noticed my braking wasn't what it used to be, and a few minor things were pissing me off. So I ripped it apart and started over.
Here's the newest revision:

What I did:
-drilled out the aluminum plates for weight weenie points (no reason really)
-added heat shrink to the spokes so they don't scuff my seat tube
-cleaned all the burnt salmon from my rim with acetone and a scotch brite pad
-sanded the pads w/ 100 grit
-new linear cable, covered in blue heat shrink to make the casing more durable (the old one was kinked, with braids poking out, and some strands were broken at the clamped end)
-bent and cut my primo lever into a single finger trigger (the end was hitting my middle finger knuckle)
-V brake accordian boot just for fun
Now I've got a full finger travel of modulation, and the tire doesn't slip on sketchy abubacas=]
I'm thinking I want to experiment with a non directional pad soon, since the majority of hard braking I do, is with the wheel going the wrong way.
What brake mods have you guys done?
