General Cycling Discussion - What do you want from Santa this year?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
It’s getting to be that season again.
I made up my list (in html format) and saved it to my wife’s desktop. Almost every link is to an online cycling catalog. I want more cycling shorts, tights, and socks for winter riding.
How about you?
Have you been a good little cyclist?
What do you want from Santa?

What I want for XMAS is to stop obsessing about more and more equipment and to start wearing out what I already have.

My sunnies are pretty scratched up. A new pair of sunglasses would do me nicely.
Bike touring stuff! Now that I've been biking consistently for a year or so, I'd like to try bicycle touring next spring. I'd like a new bike from Santa, but I think I'm going to have to lay out the cash for that once I have lots of new bicycle toys. Touring on a 15 year old Schwinn may not be the best idea.

I'm in need of new clothes so that will probably be most of what I get. My bike is still too new to me as of now to know what I want to change on it, but I've thought about getting clipless pedals. For once I don't have a list of electronic gadgets that I don't really need, like that palm pilot that's been sitting in the drawer for awhile. If anybody wants an M-100 Palm Pilot for really cheap, let me know.

As our 2 and a half year old dog was unfortunately killed in a road accident recently, we are giving each other a puppy Vizsla to be company for our other pup.
Other than that, I wouldn't mind a new set of wheels.

Sorry to hear about the dog, Chewa. I know you'll enjoy the pups, twice over!
All I want for Christmas is more TIME to enjoy what I have now!
I wanna be able to climb the hills in the Santa Cruz Mtns better,
On the material side, I'm hoping for a Park Repair Stand, some lightweight tights for winter riding, and maybe another jersey.
I want the merlin Cielo frame for my bike.. I'm not greedy, I'll just take the frame rather then the whole bike. Think my 5yr will come through this christmas for me?

I would like to retire and open up a bike shop. This requires me winning the lottery for xmas.
My shop would be different though. All items sold at retail prices, but you'd get a reciept for a certain % going to charities that use cycling for fundraising such as MS. So not only would I not make a profit, I'd pass the tax deduction on to the customers.
what do you think?
I really don't want anything myself for christmas but I know what presents santa is bringing the kids and I cannot wait to play with those.
Errrr..... I mean watch the kids unwrap them and see the look on their faces.;)
Mtnbikerchk that sounds a cool idea, now have you thought of a name for the shop.

New shoes and pedals(okay, well right now i don't have any bike shoes or pedals to clip into so I guess they wouldn't be new, just a first pair)
Also, I'd like to get my first bike trainer as well.

Time...I want time to tour with my sweete.
I'll take Britanny Spears in the back!
1) New, lighter clipless pedals and some knickers (don't laugh!!). I've got tights, but it's often too warm for them..
2) And Santa, bring me a magic pill to make climbing easier..
Chewa, so sorry about the dog (SOB). I wouldn't mind a puppy for Xmas myself. A coonhound puppy.
Also, since I had that accident last month, I need some repairs. I wanted a set of lighter wheels anyways, and I was planning to upgrade the components this winter, so how about all that? A nice set of, say, Cosmics and new campy components.
And a big sum of money so we can take off and go to Europe and see all the races from April to September.
And on the non cycling side, a really great set of cookwear.
And peace instead of war. War sucks canal water.

Well, I would like one of those hi-visibility, bright green windbreakers I see other cyclists with. I also wish I could catch the attention of a certain young lady I know:D Although it might be better to wait untill after Christmas as women can be expensive:D

I'd like a time machine to visit my previous incarnation 30 years ago. Then I'd thrash him thoroughly for takin up smoking.

santa came early this year. i just bought all my winter apparel. a bright yellow windproof jacket, booties, gloves, bib knickers, all exte ondo stuff. too bad they don't make bibs for women. i am a woman and looooove their bib knickers. the chamois in it kicks butt. at least with my new jacket, motorists will be able to see me. it is so bright.

A BOB trailer to further promote my independence.
Get my Pinarello powder coated.

Chewa. I'm really very saddended to hear about the loss of your faithful, no doubt playful, companion. May the new pups rule the roost.:)
I'd like a Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera to replace my aged crap Sony.
Bookie; Just bought my hubby the Nikon D100 for chrismas. Cost a few sheckles bur he just bought me my Terry Madeline so we are both in 7th heaven.
Now I just have to wait until spring to ride it.
well this is difficult.
A 1967 Masi track frame (51 or 52 cm please!)
A 1971 Pogliaghi road frame (53 cm)
a 1968 campy Super record rear derailleur (nos).
thats it for dream stuff.
I'd like more time to ride, other than
that its all gravy.

Nikon D100, eh? Excuse me while I go onto my knees and sniff the hallowed footprints of the D100 owner!:D
A nice camera, for sure. Almost 2x the price of mine. I bet it takes some great pics. No excuse not to post some pics of the other Terry Madeline, whatever that may be? Is it a bike, for I just searched the web and I can't find it.

Ooooooh, Annie! You lucky thing! Can I borrow it until spring? It's still warm enough to ride here!
I keep going between the Madeleine and the Isis. Decisions, decisions! I guess since I'm not working, it's a moot point anyway! I obviously need to save more pennies! :D
Sorry to hear about your dog Chewa. I hope the pups can fill the void in your lives. :(
Can't say that I need anything. :)
But if you really want to know ;) it would be nice to have a better paying job (thank you corporate down-sizing) so my wife can quit her job and be my riding companion. She works in healthcare and is on her feet all day and totally wiped out by the end of the day. :(

Aside from cycling habit, I am a sick single digit golfer  MP30 irons are Mizuno's newest and greatest forged blades...absolutely beautiful tools of the trade, and I also purchased new woods...(Driver & 3wd and putter)
I am in a toy race  and trying dearly to win. However, that said, I can live with placing in the top 5... :D

A new bike of course, I v'e been a good boy, and I deserve it:beer:
Bookie, You'll have to talk to my better half if you want to see pictures. I'm not a very good photographer. I just helped buy it.
Beth, It is quite a machine (the Madeline), you won't be disappointed. I too had trouble deciding between the Isis and the Madeline but for my type of riding the Madeline was a better bet. I would loive to ride it down to Texas so you can give it a whril.
Steve, LOL. I'd also love to get a Warner Brothers t-shirt with that Daffy Duck avatar on it- the one you have. Daffy duck is my favorite! When I went to the Warner Brothers store I couldn't find anything with Daffy on it!
Santa has not listen to me for a very very long time, I don't know why..
Maybe you're on his 'Naughty' list, Hmmm?
I guess I have everything I want that is "remotely close" to my budget, so I'm shopping for items for the Christmas stocking right now.
Ordered one of these

I'm still shopping and getting ideas and suggestions from all of you about the fork and stem on my old road bike (commuter).
