Many, many, many, many years ago , back when I was still into reading, I read a book and basically it stated that most successful men, if they were not successful by the age of 26 were probably never going to be successful. Or at least this is all i can remember of it. It's been a decade or so since I read it.

No I don't think I realized that :p. You seem to act like you're alot younger :p

Wow, if that was "many, many, many, many years" and about a decade ago... then I'm "many, many, many, many years" older than you, but I'm still not old enough to be your father...

Note to self: stop thinking out loud late at night.

Yes you are. If you started young. We could be his parents ;)

Males are of questionable fertility at age 10. But it's not inconceivable. (umm, no pun intended, of course)

Anyway, too late for me tonight. Off to bed I go. Have a great day, TG. And don't worry about turning 26 in two years. I'm 26 and not yet all that successful, but I haven't given up hope. You shouldn't be fretting over it, either.

Well, I did the math and figured I would have been 12. That creeped me out. I mean, if I did that and had a son who followed in my footsteps... I'd be a grandparent by the age of 24. That's just begging to be a guest on Jerry Springer or Oprah.

:bday: TexasGuy. Don't worry abouth the success/failure thing. I'm 49 and by most peoples definition... I'm a failure. Butcha know, the only definition that really matters to me is mine and by that, I' a success.

Go on, be your own success!

Leave at 1, ride to the nearest bar, drink a beer, ride to the next bar, drink a beer, repeat. Then come back and post in the Blacked Out thread.

Heh, I wish I could. Only a few problems.
#1 - I'd still probably get carted even at the age of 24
#2 - I can't drink
#3 - I can't spend money frivolously on things like drinking :(
#4 - I don't think I know any bars even if #2 and #3 were possible.
#5 - I don't think drinking is something thats any fun to do alone

Then I'll have a celebratory beer for you. And I'll make it a $4 six pack of Lone Star, just for me... I meant you.

BAH! Stop making excuses to not have fun!

"#1 - I'd still probably get carted even at the age of 24"

That's a blessing in disguise, grin from ear- to-ear like the cheshire cat when you give'm your ID.

"#2 - I can't drink"

Huh??@!#? open mouth
tilt head back
relax and open throat
pour drink down throat
close mouth
straighten head
lick lips and say "AAhhhhh" :)

"#3 - I can't spend money frivolously on things like drinking :( "

That's what chics are for! :) If you bring 2-3 of them with you downtown, you've got 2-3 free drinks lined up! You can always gather up a couple more once you're there.

"#4 - I don't think I know any bars even if #2 and #3 were possible. "

Here's a couple:

SA MaxNights - SA Nightclubs Bars Entertainment (http://sa.maxnights.com)
Yahoo - Bars & Clubs (http://local.yahoo.com/results?fr=dd-local-more&stx=bars+clubs&csz=San+Antonio%2C+TX)
AOL City Guide - Music & Nightlife (http://digitalcity.aol.com/sanantonio/bars)

"#5 - I don't think drinking is something thats any fun to do alone"

You're never alone! There's a tonne of people around. You look around, find someone that catches your fancy. You know how it happens, you see someone from a distance and they catch your eye... There's something about them, perhaps it's the way they carry themselves, the way they hold their drink, the way they laugh... there is something that just pulls you towards them and you feel yourself irresistably drawn towards them. You slide up next to them at the bar and sniff them... "Hey..." :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!
