I don't know about any of you but I always seem to take an age to get ready in the morning, even when I packed all my kit the night before.
How long does it take you from getting out of bed to pedalling off?

Let's see... Assuming I've packed and shaved the night before...
Laying in bed trying to get up after the alarm goes off: 5-10 mins
Eat breakfast: 10 mins
Shower: 15 mins
Brush hair, teeth, etc: 5 mins
Get dressed: 3 mins
Fill water bottles, hook up light, computer, quick check bike: 5 mins
Total: 43-48 mins
Gee, I thought I was pretty fast, but your survey only goes to 30 mins :)

It takes me less than 15 minutes, but I plan on it only taking me 5 minutes. Therefore, never early leaving. I usually make a couple of extra trips between basement, upstairs and garage, getting stuff that's not where it should have been. I should get everything ready the night before but I don't.

If I have showered and packed my lunch the night before, I can be out of the house 20 minutes after I wake up. I only have a 5 mile commute, so I eat breakfast when I get to work.
Up at 5:00, shower, shave, contacts, teeth and whatever else gets done in the bathroom, done at 5:09. Down to breakfast and to dress, done at 5:25, Out the door and on the bike 5:30. I pack my bags the night before and get my clothes ready. At work by 6:25 - 6:30 to start the day. Just like a cow, I walk the same path each and every day.

I have about a 50 min ride to work, so I shower at the gym that is down the street. So, I really just get up, use the restroom, take my vitamins, get dressed in cycling gear (more gear in the winter, less in the summer), get water bottle from the refrigerator, attach my cyclocomputer and hit the road. I pack all my bags and lay out my cycle gear the night before. In the summer I can usually do all this in about 10-15 mins, but in the winter it seems to be taking me about 20-25 mins.
Plus, now that it's winter, I usually pull up weather.com and check to see what the weather is like and if I need to put on more or less clothes.
On the other end of the commute, usually takes me about 30 to 35 mins to shower, change into clothes and walk/ride the 1/2 mile to work. Then I put on my business clothes once I'm at work. I bring work clothes to work every 5th day and take home the dirty clothes.

I have a 26km commute so I want to make sure I have everything I'll need. I do most of my preparation in the evening.
Get up, turn on the flame to get the oatmeal cooking, shower, shave and put on my cycling clothes - 15 min
Eat breakfast, prepare water bottle - 10 min
Do final prep and packing on bike - 5 to 10 min
Go for final pit stop - 2 min
Put on cycle gear and head out the door - 2 min

I tend to sleep in my cycling gear with my feet clipped into my pedals. That way I can get away within 43 seconds of waking up.

Can I change my vote?? I didn't read the post properly before voting. It takes me less than 15 to get ready, after I've done all the other stuff! . I usually get out of bed, check the weather on the TV (The WeatherNetwork), then have breakfast and do a little netsurfing, check the Environment Canada weather website, lollygag around for varying periods, then have a shower and leave. Usually an hour or so between wakeup and out the door!

well, most of you guys are more organized than me. maybe half the time i get some of my stuff ready the night before but usually not and almost never everything.
to answer the original question: total time from alarm to sitting in the office is about 1:15 to 1:30 -- snooze usually goes off 15 minutes, 10 minutes cereal, 10 minutes getting dressed, 10 minutes shower, 30 minutes ride time, 5 minutes changing at work -- + often 5 minutes looking for commuting gear like gloves plus 5 minutes "relaxation/laziness" after breakfast if i don't feel the need to get to office urgently ---- winter becomes 1:30 to 1:45
since everyone's different in breakfast/showering and commuting distances vary greatly and whatever, i think a better question would be:
how much EXTRA time does it take you to get ready in the morning b/c you cycle? both at home and then at work?
for me:
Summer:
-- at home - 2 minutes
-- at work - 5 minutes to change (+ usually 1-3 extra minutes outside or slow riding to cool down)
= 7-10 minutes
Winter:
-- at home - 12 minutes(mostly looking for gloves or lights or overshoes or whatever + deciding which jacket/jersey to wear)
-- at work - 10 minutes to change and then hang up all my stuff
= 22 minutes
this is often comparable to time that would be spent parking or de-icing the windshield if you drove by car (well, only if you live somewhere cold)
