Hi Guys;
I am coming over from the road bikes, i recently had my fuji thrill mountain bike stolen and am looking for a decent bike that is good allround. I looked at the 06 Diamondback Response and really like it and for $400, it seems to fit the budget perfectly. I was wondering if there is any other bike better then this for around the same price.

Also any of have anything negative about it, i laready no that the shimano alivio is not the best gear assembly.

Any inputs will be really appreciated.

IMO, it is a good bike for the $$ in that price range. Like most say, test ride it and see. I was checking out the Response Comp at the LBS, more $$$ though. Overall I think the 06 Response line is a good product.

I liked the Response Sport '06. Specially for the color - rust orange. And, it looks so much like the Santa Cruz Chameleon. don't you think?

I've got a Jamis Durango and love it. A Durango 1.0 is about $525, and the cross country line costs a little less

What exactly is the difference between the Cross Country and the Durango? Does the Durango just have a better frame because I think the CC has better components and is a good bit cheaper.

I just looked again and I guess it has disc brakes and a couple other things.
