Road Bike Racing - Tour of California Grassy Knoll Recap - 1540 photos and videos

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

All eight days are now documented and the timelines have been adjusted to account for differences in camera times. All stages have been recently updated:

Some observations:
* There are a lot of damn good "amateur" photographers out there!
* It's very cool seeing a moment in time captured by sometimes 3 or 4 different people from different angles.
* More video than expected was submitted. (Tip: you can find only the video clips by deselecting 'photos' in the storyboard filter and then clicking 'Create Gallery')
* This citizen journalism project was a topic of conversation at the event among the top organizers, the pros, the press and other photographers. I got a lot of big grins from the pros but the organizers see it as a threat to their television rights and I may have trouble getting media credentials again.
* As my wife said, "it's better to be controversial than boring!"

Is it too late to upload some more pictures? I've been processing some of my better ones and am almost done with them..

No it's not too late. Upload them any time. Since I've seen yours already I know they will be welcome additions!

i think the project is just awesome. for me, this represented the best way to see the race since i'm not in the area. the quality of many of the pics was outstanding as well.

just uploaded some pics I took on the Stage6 SB -TO, Sat Feb 25 - at the 150-Casitas overview summit (KOM2) - some crowd shots, including the new Dynamic Duo - Angel & PhuzzyGuy!

was a great time, big crowd, mucho fun!
It struck me how much 'money' was up on that hill in the way of 2whl *Bling*... and how much cummultive sweat, tears, pains went into making the muscle that rode it all up there (course there were a few who just 'drove' up). Out of some 400-500 people on the summit there were prolly only a dozen cars! Means everyone else rode up - WAY TO GO RIDERS!
Best day of the year to ride the 150! I luv that road!

on the upload tech side...
not sure what I did wrong on the upload - I uploaded and set the date/time stamp to an accurate number, considering that my camera wasn;t set properly - and the script still dropped the 'entered' time stamp.

Great pictures - one note after browsing. It's Michael Barry, not Berry. Common misconception.

Correction made. It doesn't haven't help that Berry Floor is a sponsor.

I'll adjust the times and you can fine too them too if needed. When you are logged in you can edit your photo details. Yes, there was a bug related to what you were doing to but I didn't have time to fix it and I didn't want "the fix" to mess something else up. Since there will be more grassy knoll projects, I'll be making numerous enhancements and fixes for the next version.

The photos and videos were submitted by many individuals. Underneath each photo and video is a link to the photographer's web site. You should send an email to the photographer of a photograph or video you particularly like and ask.
