Foo - Your first BF post...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any of you ever go back and glance at your list of posts/threads?
I saw my first thread, from just last June:
Replace encased bearings with loose? (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=114648)
I was such a puttz. Especially, since I have now replaced all of my caged bearings with loose ones.
Now it's your turn...
"Yea, I've done that. I saw one of my old posts and thought ____________________."

Mine was related to my job as a bike advocate....which is how I found this site. I have been foolish posting-wise since then though. :D

That's not true. You just need to improve your search skills. :)
My first few posts aren't that interesting.

i guess your right, if you do a search around the date you joined you can get it. Turns out that thread was my first post. Thats kinda weird that i would have started a thread before i even made a post..what was i thinking.
I found my first post.
I gently teased Rayin and wound up on his ignore list!
Oh well...

Even easier... you display results in chronological order showing the earliest first (instead of the default of showing the latest first) and you see the first 500 posts you made.

My "actual" first post wasn't very interesting. However, here's a search of my first posts (ascending order from first post).

:roflmao:
I was such a doofushead. I also started a thread: "wish me luck tomorrow's my first day".
It's 4.3 miles by car, but that involves a half-mile of "suicide alley" -- a narrow 2-lane with no shoulder, a 45 mph speed limit (ignored of course), and heavy truck traffic.
:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
That's now the road I take every single day.

I remember finding BF after googling some weird part for my bike that I was considering and looking for reviews. Epinions was striking out so I googled it and the search result took me to BF. I read the reviews/opinions, decided against the part which for the life of me I can't remember now, then went to the BF main page and randomly clicked through forums reading posts. Then I decided without much thought or fanfare that my first post would be in Rude Drivers (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=130855). My life hasn't been the same since. Curse you all! :p

My First Post (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=109151)
Such a total uninformed noob I was. And apparently too lazy to actually go outside and read the tire size on the old bike too. Anyone have any 28" tires laying around - I was looking for some way back then.
/really needed 26". I remember they were bigger than the other kid's tires by 2"... only I thought theirs were 26" - but apparently they were 24"... oh how much I've learned!

Hah! Isn't it awesome how people can force you to learn things whether you want to or not?
Kinda like, have you ever tried to look at words and NOT read them? I can't do it. (words in english anyway).

Richard D, if you watch the movie Quick Silver you can see Kevin Bacon riding a fixed gear backwards in a circle. It is an interesting movie to watch and see how many times the bike changes gearing or goes to a coaster brake. There is also a good scene of some guys do circus or cycloball style tricks.
It is easiest to ride backwards with a 1 to 1 gearing.
I'm sure there are a few of us who really can't dig all the way back to their oringal post using the search feature depending on if they've made over 500 posts in that specific forum in the time span between 1 year ago and the time they registered.

My first post was about bee stings.

I boldly boasted that I hadn't been stung in quite a while. Then 15 days later, I was stung on a ride.

I think about 50% of first posts go much like that. Mine mentioned doing much the same. :D Though with the huge knowledge base that is BikeForums, one needs only hang around for a few months before they soak in enough to actually sound like they may know what they're talking about.
