Once again I tried to catch the bus on the edge of my neighborhood and ride the bus with my bike. I was planning on shaving about 4 miles off my trip. Just as I approached, the bus was leaving. It disappeared down the road.
I settled in for a regular commute. I was 15 minutes ahead of schedule, so it would be a somewhat relaxed ride. I didn't have to push myself.
As I was just about to reach the place where the bus would have dropped me, the bus that got away from me passed me. Not sure if this was possible, I looked at my clock: 6:57 am.--the bus was right on schedule. We were vitually neck-and-neck.
This has happened enough that I am sure it is normal.
Bicycling has, once again, proven to be one of the most practical, fast and efficient means of travelling.
