If I win the lottery, I'll spend at least 10 hours a week riding your ski lift.

Good thing. You pretty much need to win the lottery to be able to afford a lift ticket anymore...

I was watching a documentary about the making of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. There was a guy who applied powder to the models' rear ends. That's the job I want.

I've worked on many a fashion shoot, and I can tell you - those guys are not usually impressed with girls rear ends so much.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Some would argue the best job is in fact no job.
Assuming you have the financial wherewithal, of course.

That would be a tough job on powder days. You better get this written into your employment contract.

Nah...
I don't dump my shifts on other people when it's a tough day now, and it's deep-seeded enough that I couldn't do that kind of thing once I make my hay. A busy day once in a while keeps a worker honest and appreciative of the times it's not crazy.

I worked in a flower shop for a few years while in HS & college. Delivery was "ok". It was scary as $hit delivering to the housing projects. It also sucks delivering to Funeral Homes since you don't get tipped. Nursing homes suck because it stinks in there. Hospital sucks because no tip.
My biggest tip? There's an electrolysis owner across the street that my boss was dating. My boss would get her flowers every single day. EVERY DAY! Something small & simple. Well, I would go everyday. This lasted about a month. She would usually tip me with a candy bar or something. But one time, she had a Swedish girl in there (no older than 25) getting her pubic hair done so that she can travel to Europe & enjoy the nude beaches. Guess what? There's a tiny window from the kitchen to the room. She allowed me to peek in for a few seconds. What did I see? A beautiful round smooth butt with a towel covering the the small part of her back down to the crack. But I saw everything! Best tip ever! And I was only 17!
2nd Biggest tip: A young lady opened the door soaking wet wearing nothing but a bath towel. Damn! She went back in to get me a tip & when she came out, her towel kinda slipped a little and I caught a glimpse a split second before she grabbed it to cover herself.
Worse job? Got a 9mm muzzle indented in my forehead as I walked off the elevator to the housing project. They took the money I had in my pocket ($10) and pulled out a rose from the the arrangement. I had to explain to the lady why she only had 11 roses.....and get this!!! She asked me to go back and get her a single rose later in the day. I went downstairs and guess what? They asked me to run my pocket again! They took the $2 tip that I just rec'd.
Also worth mentioning: I worked at a shop in the City when I went to college. I delivered to an apartment on the UES and a guy in a robe opened the door. I gave him the flowers and he yelled to the girl: "Hey, your husband got you flowers again".
If I won the lotto, I'll pay 50X the price of a ski lift ticket so that my friends & I can cut directly to the front of the line and get on the lift without having to wait.

Any job you like is a good job, that is as long as you have health insurance and make enough to eat and have a couple good bikes.

I'd like to be a construction worker who helped build or architect houses. I'd also like to be a marine biologist. If i were smarter I'd like to create the software used to develop physics and airflow engines that big companies use to test stuff before building it.
Winning the lottery would be pretty nice. Right now, I don't really want a full time job. I'd like something that made enougn money to go to college. I don't know what I'd really go for though.

Read about a man who worked for a Swedish maker of bicycle tires (Trelleborg). His job? Testing tires by riding them. Really! 100 to 200 kilometers a day, summer and their winter. Carried enough tools to overhaul his bike. Story told of an ultralong event he entered when he was middle-aged against many much younger racer types. The others disappeared down the road at first. He kept going, passing when they stopped, passing when they took breaks, passing when they slept. He won the race.
A full career, he probably retired years ago.

I'm really lucky. I have a job I like a lot. I work for a university, writing, editing and doing photography. It's challenging, demanding, frustrating at times, but very creative and even fun. I get to learn a lot all the time and have a staff of two people whom I manage. I'm lucky that I think the world of both of them.
I think it's important to find something you really love, to do your best at it, and to always keep learning.
Ever see that show with John Ratzenberger (Clif Claven)? That'd be a pretty cool job; traveling around from town to town checking out cool businesses and stuff.
But I agree with CyLowe: when I retire from the Navy, I'd like to be a professional ski bum.

I'd say the nicest job to get would be "professional slacker"....but I doubt there's any openings for that.
Aside from that...I'd probably say "Beef Jerky Tester" If there is such a job, I would be in hog heaven if I had it.

My dad told me never do what you loved.
I loved programming and developing. I've done it for a decade now and I hate it.
Do something you like and enjoy but not something you love.

the best job i can think of right now, is making suspension mountain biking frames that people love.
i would love to do that with my life. would be so great.

Never any dirty looks, just real sad looks, heartbreaking.
I delivered an arrangement to an elderly gentleman who couldn't have cared less, which made it worse. :(
I really wanted to run back to the shop and get flowers for everyone.
And shame on you for thinking I'd ever say that, shame.. shame.. shame
