Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Pick-up pins on shifting chainrings? (Sugino XD300)

So I decided not to get the Sugino RD b/c people say they're flexy. How about these Sugino XD300's?

I heard they're stiffer. And they happen to be cheaper too.

But, do those "pin/ramps to facilitate shifting" get in the way of fixed gear use?

Also, I can take off the smaller two chainrings w/ no problems and it will work/look fine, right?

Thanks!

Flexy like a noodle? Would they have been the weakest link on the bike? What do you weigh?

"But, do those "pin/ramps to facilitate shifting" get in the way of fixed gear use?"

No.

And removal of the rings is fine, add correct ring bolts ($7) and get the chainline straight.

My RD's shipped today. I go 240# on a good day - I'll let you know if they flex or not.

uhhh those are no different than the sugino XDs sold as single speed cranks.
and those are pretty flexy.

edit.. well except for the extra pinned chainrings that is.
