Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. wow, no responses! I guess all the Django owners are out riding! Maybe you want to go over to BROL and ask the question.

Hi,

I have a Burley Django, and have several other bents (HP Velotechnik, Reynolds Wishbone, Bike E, Norus Lowracer, ReBike, RANS Vivo, Trek R200, and a Terra Trike). I had wanted a Burley Django or Hepcat for a long period of time, and it took some effort to find the right one.
Mine is a beauty. I am very impressed with the quality of manufacture coming from Burley. I have been riding it on a trainer indoors for the last two months, and since I am in the Northeast, haven't had a chance to get it on the road yet.
The bike is designed for efficiency and comfort. Although I love the lowracers and quasi-lowracers, they are somewhat dangerous on the street. It's a bit unnerving having a giant diesel truck pull along side you.
The Django sits very nicely, and even at 5'7" I can get my feet flat on the ground at a stop. This is due, in large part to the clever frame design (stepped) and the thin padding on the seat.
I will admit that the seat takes some getting used to, and if you are accustomed to a RANS "Sweetseat" or a Bike E, this will be a transition that requires some patience. However, there is a reason that this design was chosen, I believe. I think the thinner, more dense foam allows you to ride more comfortably longer. It actually offers more support.
There is no doubt that the Burley Django is a looker, and I admire it every chance I get. I haven't looked at the newer models, but the deep crimson metallic finish on mine is spectacular, really top notch. I really can't wait to get it on the street.
I will be selling off some of my "herd" since it is becoming unmanageable. However, I will be certain to keep the Burley. It is just a great all around design. Perfect for nice easy cruising, commuting, touring, and yet sporty enough to keep up with the pack (even if I'm not!). It is well worth the money, and to be fair, I don't see the Hepcat (essentially the same bike, with upgraded components) justifying the extra cost. I would rather upgrade myself, and make a more personalized ride.
Anyway, that's my feeling on it. If you can find a Django, grab it. They are beautiful and very well made.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply; wasn't sure if anyone was going to respond :D

I *was* going Recumbent shopping tomorrow but it sounds like there is going to be thunder storms :(

Right now, I have my 'list' down to 3 bents: The Rans Tailwind, Rocket, and Burley Django.

Hi!

I have a 2005 Django - and LOVE it!! It is in Black Amber color - as has been mentioned the Django is a looker for sure - and rides as nice as it looks too.

I find the seat to be just fine - actually a bit nicer than the RANS type seat IMHO. There does seem to be 2 types of Burley seats - a thinner harder Corbin seat base and a thincker more padded one.

I find the Django to be a fast, easy riding bike. I love the handlebar setup on the Burley..... comfy!!! :) I setup mine with 2 of the Evo Lite mirrors.... looks killer and visibility is great.
