I’ve been playing around with the idea of trying to start a Critical Mass in northern Orange County, CA. I’ve found that many people find the Santa Monica and Los Angeles Critical Mass to be simply to far away. This in turns leaves many cyclists not participating in Critical Mass only because it logistically doesn’t work out. I’ve been thinking of starting a Critical Mass in Fullerton (Harbor/ Malvern). It seems like a great place since it’s pretty close to three colleges; Biola, Fullerton College, and Cal State Fullerton. Also the intersection of Harbor and Malvern is freeway close (91& 57 FWY). The Fullerton train station is also just a block away. There are also several OCTA bus lines that run through the area.
I’ve also thought that the typical 6:00-6:30PM meeting time is to early for many people getting off of work. I think starting the ride at 7:30 or 8:00PM would work better (keep in mind this is sunny California)
