Hey Guys,
I have a 21 yo Nishiki that I'm possibly interested in converting to a fixer. My original thought was to convert to a cross bike but there would have been some frame cutting, new fork and so forth which would start to cost more than its worth. Anyway, what do I need to do to convert to Fix or single speed?, IE cranks, rear gear etc. My rear wheel is the old 130mm spacing with a freehub (not cassette). Also what are the advantage of fix vs single speed. I will probably use the Nishiki as an alternative to regular training rides or take it with me when I travel rather than take my road bike. What gearing is recommended (Its very hilly here in No. Georgia). If you need more info just ask. I appreciate any help. Thanks.
