Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I voted i don't give a crap. Sometimes they match just because I'm building wheels or replacing tyres in pairs. Sometimes they don't. This ain't no fashion show.

Mine match because I found a tire that I loved (Specialized All Conditions Pro) and eventually ended up with two of 'em on at once.

mine don't match very often. it isn't common to find matching tires in the dumpster.
Buy 'em as I need 'em...
I'm matching them all the way on my roadie though.

Agreed.
Right now I have Vittoria Fortezza TriComps in 700x25. One is pink, and one is blue. That's the closest I've come to finding matching tires that weren't already on matching wheels.
semi-knobby up front, totally slick out back. because I run a front brake.

For the past year I have ridden with Conti 4 Season GP's in front, for their wet weather stickiness; and, with Armadillos in back, for their resistance to flats.
This Monday I will start riding Conti GP 4000s, front and back.
I'll report the difference.

i ride a cheap kenda that came on my bike up front and then a specialized all weather armadillo in the back cause i skidded through my others.

I don't give a crap. It's hard enough to find clean matching socks every morning as it is.

Interestingly enough, the tires on my fixie match right now, and the tires on my roadie don't
pure coincidence, though

Gatorskin on back, rubino or zaffiro up front. Utility all the way. Then ride em til they die.
ive said it before(all the time), i am really poor. so ending up with matching tires is like finding a box full of money. that said, bontrager race lite in the front(slick) and michelin orium with red stripes and tread on the rear. and i use a front brake to save the rear tire.

I use tubulars... those qualify in this tires survey??
I can't really vote, because I don't know which bike you're asking about.
