Yes, of course! Fair enough, guys...

Someone in another thread mentioned how on a motorcycle, motorists would often cut in front of him.

I think two headlights, instead of only one, aid in revealing the oncoming speed of a vehicle, much as having two eyes allows greater depth perception.

If the lights are close enough together, they will appear as one at a distance.

Pete, I agree with you on this one.

Beyond eight feet or so, we use other cues, apart from the binocular focusing we normally think of as depth perception, to establish distance of an object. The size of objects, distance between lights, brightness etc. all play a part.

I use a combination of a 15 W halogen light along with an LED light. They are close together on the handlebars, but since the lights have a different glow, it catches motorist attention.
