I've been looking at tri bikes and I'm trying to decide between a 2006 Felt S32 for $1400 or a 2005 Felt S25 for $1700. Which do you guys think is the better deal? Are there any other tri bikes I should look at for this price range?
Thanks
Component wise, the S25 is higher. The Dura Ace components are well worth the $300 IMO. It depends on if you will notice the difference in good components and great components though. I'm also thinking about resale and "upgraditis", which hits everyone about 6 months after they buy their first bike. If you have top of the line stuff, you won't have to upgrade, which will cost you more than the initial $300.
My advice is to ride each bike and see if one feels better than the other.
As far as other bikes:
Fuji Aloha 1.0 $1800
Trek Equinox 7 $1650
Cannondale Ironman 3 $2000
Cervelo Dual $1700
Specialized Transition $1200-1800
Are all good bikes. If I were to really search one out though, I would definitely try to at least ride the Cervelo. They are really nice bikes if they fit you right. Which brings me to my next point. Ride everything you can becasue you may think the Felts fit, only to ride he Cannondale and fall in love.
Any bike on this list, including the Felts, would give you years of good riding.
