Before people start posting it on the massive monster track thread, I thought I'd start one since we were talking about it last night. A lot of photos were taken, as well as videos so I guess when people get home they can post it up here.

****ing batteries died. so I just drank alot. I had a good time breaking the pedal at the goldsprints and having them be like 1 hour fixing the mess up..
that was impressive indeed. good seein ya. i might try to make it down to philly for april 1st.
so i'm resizing a luldicrous amount of pictures right now, and i'll post some up and a link to where you guys can browse 'em all tonight.
are there any photo hosting sites that automatically resize? if not, there needs to be, cause doin that **** sucks

facebook resizes for you .... haha.
you can batch resize photos in photoshop without much trouble. but i decided to not kill my bandwith (there's over a gig of photos overall and hosting it on my server would destroy my bandwith), so they're all going up, full sized, into Flickr. Its takin me a long while to upload them in batches, but it'll be done soon enough.

i'm sure www.photobucket.com does resizing.

image resizer powertoy does it pretty painlessly. it's a shell extension!!!!111
yeah if you have photoshop definitely learn to use Actions or batch processing. 4 hour job in 4 minutes...

ImageMagick (http://sourceforge.net/projects/imagemagick/) has a stupid name but it does exactly what you want and about a million other things quickly and from the command line. it should build on almost any modern unix, OS X, and maybe some other crappier systems as well. it's way faster and more efficient than photoshop in batch mode (rather like destroying a mite with a howitzer, makes me cringe a little). this is the secret to all those sites that automatically resize photos. the backend just makes calls to ImageMagick and generates images on the fly.

And yet, if I see another shot of stacked bikes, I'm going to puke all over my screen. Anybody happen to photograph the racers while they were in motion, or was everybody too busy being one of the racers?
i think most people from the forums were in the race. the ones that weren't mostly hit up the start and the finish. there were a ton of people filming along the way, but that of course takes a bit longer to edit and post than pics.

Ditto. If I wanted to look at bikes, I'd go to FGG. Where's the HUMANITY?

it's weird.. the aussi dude on the right... he was amongst the riders in the re-load race last october here in seattle.. drank with him/met him afterward. he must have travelled out there for monstertrack....

Why isn't alfred on Puma anymore? anyone have the gossip.
yeah, that guy is hella ****ing cool. He was also well known with the local messenger community so it would make sense that he lives a couple hours away.

i followed this guy to checkpoint 2, and the route was windy as hell.
so at some point he got behind me so he could draft for a while and i
was trying to explain that i had no freakin idea which way to go. much
confusion insued, but we got there. thanks dude.
http://amybolger.com/monstertrackseven/image/035.jpg
and i followed this guy to the battery park checkpoint. we were blazing
down one of the avenues and there was this squad car like right behind
us blaring his siren - the kind that sounds like a lazer. for a second we
thought he was chasing us.. and you know what, maybe he was. again,
thanks for the assist.

that guy was cool as hell and helped us find the party on friday night after we couldn't get our lock off in time and lost the group ride to the party at essex and delancey (we were inside the pizza place and i came out just as they were taking off and sers was changing his socks).

Heya, I took alot of photos over the weekend, and I'm still uploading them to a Flickr stream.
I'll post the link soon.
sorry I haven't gotten right on this, but I enjoyed the rest of my weekend in the city with some delicious delicious vegan food, then worked today.
tonight is my friend's goodbye get together because he's going on tour, so I'll probably upload more tomorow, or just do it tonight if I can't sleep.
