My gear cables (Ultegra) are in the way when I try to mount my Handlebar bar (Arkel Small bar bag). Short of putting sharp bends in the cables what are some of the solutions that other people have come upwith?

Unless it has already been suggested, use a couple of v-brake noodles to route your cables immediately downwards from your shifters. This is a common method of routing cables where the handlebar bag may be in the way.

I think my cables must be relatively long ... my handlebar bag sits nicely in there with the cables acting almost as a nest.
