Have you seen this new PC game just out? its aimed at adults and is simply awesome. Read the reviews . Set in London its a gangland v flying squad scenario with stunning graphics. Took 3 years to make and cost £3 million

i would buy it if it wasn't such a violent game. seems like such a waste to me to put all that money into making a game that in the end turns many potential buyers off because of the violence.

Yes I think we are getting far to blase about violence arn't we!?

You see such ridiculous acts of violence on tv and movies etc that I am sure a lot of kids grow up thinking that it can't do any major harm to hit, shoot, stab and mug others because in the movies actors always get up afterwards

Apparently the visual graphics are stunning perhaps they will use the same program to offer alternative games and virtual tourism:)

The realness of video games these days, given that the characters, vehicles, etc., are all computer generated, is amazing.

Seems like I read somewhere that there's some kind of bike race video game? Anybody heard of it? Tried it?

Well, that game seems like Grand Theft Auto 3?

I guess I like GTA3 but the problem is that I love cycling more than such violence. If only these games allow you to cycle on the road and commit some crimes, I think I'll like it a lot. Anyway, what is so real about these 3D worlds if they don't even have bicycles anywhere?

There just games.... But still would I want my 10 year old playing GTA? No. But you know its sad when real life is more insane then any video game, 100+ dead and 500 injured, shops and homes burned over a beauty pageant!?! Thats unreal.

The bike game that is causing such a stir is BMX XXX. Whats the big deal? Topless female riders...big whoop... But not on the PS2 platform.

Yea, I play video games when Im board

Truth is stranger than fiction. 100+ dead because of a few poorly considered words.

Most computer-based auto racing simulations reduce deadly collisions and rollovers to child's play. I find this highly objectionable, because it may encourage careless driving. I would rather see a gaming console which delivered an electic shock to the user each time he caused a crash. If that is a bit severe, then perhaps we could at least have games in which a crash would eliminate one's chance of winning a given round, and perhaps cost the crasher some points.

As for Nigeria, I have no idea whether The Prophet would have approved of the Miss World Contest, but he certainly would have disapproved of the past week's carnage there!

I'm with you.

When my kids play army, I make 'em use real guns.

I don't see any problem with responsible adults with a sense of reality playing violent games. Sometimes doing things you would never do IRL can help you feel relieved. And fun.

Off topic:

I've often used this comparison when evaluating many driver's behaviors: they often seem to act as if they are operating a video
game that allows them three crashes before they have to restart the game.

Pete!

I entirerly agree with you.

Gratuitos violence of any kind is to be despised. These kind of ultra violent videos are a danger to maturing youths on how to transpose scenes depicted on screen into real-life.

Back in the 60/70`s films such as "Bullit" set the scene for many copycat movies depicting carnage with road and street auto speeding crashes.
Is it any wonder that such films did nothing but encourage to "my way of thinking" the era of "joyriding".
Statistics would back my beliefs in such a statment.

Violence can easily insinuate itself into the minds of vunerable adolecense.

I strongly believe that censures of such unmitigated rubbish have a lot to answer for in our present society.

I remember seeing something on CNN which was basically a trainer hooked up to a computer, and on the computer there was a video game with a cyclist, as the terrain changed in the game the trainer would adjust. this is about the closest think I can remember, it did look pretty nice but I bet's it expensive. :)
