i saw a bike at one lbs here where someone had punched uniform holes in the rear fender and tied orange strings through each hole and to the axle, or probably the chainstay near the axle, i should have looked.
damn cool, though. looked like the sun was rising from the rear wheel of the bike.
the words "fenders" and "hand detail" brought that to mind.
