I was watching Eurosport the other day when I came across this really weird competition where MB'ers go down a really steep (smooth) slope, up a quarter-pipe ramp, over one of those high jump fixtures, do all sorts of crazy, crazy spins and airs and end up splashing into a lake!!

Just after there was a Toss-the-bike competition where competitors had to toss an old bike into the air, the one landing the furthest wins. Crazy stuff......


Any one familiar with this awesome side of the sport ?

Servus!

I get Eurosport, so see this regularly. The bike throwing competition is called a "Huffy Toss" in America, notably because it's hard to throw a 25kg bike any distance!

BTW - RangerGirl went to your country last year for a holiday, the pictures she brought back were wonderful. A beautiful place you live!

Hi Claud!

I haven't seen the Huffy Contest before *sounds like a laugh though* but in the UK, we've had lake jumping competitions for a few years...

My mate did one ages ago at the Malvern Hills Bike Fest...hehe, he took the jump, went right up into the air, bottled it, then crashed into the lake.

Unsurprisingly, he came last..still, you had to give it to him...I couldn't have done it!!!
