Does anyone know anything about this bike? Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Looks like it might be another one of those interclubs. I'll post the link to one in a moment...

Gitane Interclub (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=173012)
Does this Gitane look like the frame you're asking about (several pics throughout the thread)?

Wow,same color as Mr Frog-same size also.I can't really see the rear dropout very well, but sure could be a match.
Blue Order-did the Interclubs come with forks of a different color-type?I'm wondering the obvious-was it one of those frame only-no fork-deals?I used a chrome Tange fork that looked a bit like that one? Thanks.Charlie

That may be it. Unfortunately, I only have that picture to go by. Thanks, though.

Not 100% sure without a closeup, but it looks like the Hurets. Also, the fork on this Gitane is full chrome, which tells me it wasn't a Gitane fork. I'm guessing it's one of those Interclub frame only-no fork deals,

That may be it. Unfortunately, I only have that picture to go by. Thanks, though. If it's the same Interclub, and you're thinking of buying it, it apparently is a high quality frame-- probably 531 Reynolds, possibly another manufacturer's high-quality CroMoly.
The graphics appear to be 1987. The model may be a Performance, but the pic is not good enough to tell. It would help if you could identify the brands and models of some of the major components. Also, what is the tubeset, as there appears to be a tubing decal on the downtube.

Again, that's the only pic I've got. But yes, I just googled the 1987 catalog, and it certainly looks like either an Inter or Performance. I'll try and crop some sections of the photo for more detail...

T-Mar is amazing. It definitely looks like the '87 Performance. The Interclub I was thinking about is earlier, and the dropuouts are different. This bike clearly has the '87 graphics. I'd say whatever T-Mar says about it is spot on.

Yeah, I'm definitely very impressed. Anyone who can identify the year based on the paint job minutes after I post the thread certainly wins my respect. I think it must be the Performance. Anyway, I've decided to get the frame, so I'll let you know for sure when I have it.
its a 87 interclub , i have one just like it . crome fork and all. gitaneusa.com has the catalog.

Admittedly, the 1987 Inter(club) frame looks very much like the Performance and without knowing the tubing we cannot say for sure. However, the 1987 Inter(club) was spec'd with Campagnolo Victory components, which are clearly not what is on the bicycle in question. It appears to have the Huret Rival derailleurs and Stronglight crankset as spec'd on the 1987 Performance. There is a possibility that someone bought an Inter(club) frame and put Huret/Stronglight components on it, but this would seem less likely than it being a Performance. Regardless, for positive identification, we'll just have to wait until Compulsivebikr gets the bicycle.
if its made of 531 c its a interclub ,the performance is made of 501.the interclub came with an option of edco headset cranks and bb, huret new sucess derailler and shifters and white muudialita saddle and modolo brakes. but i agree, pic is fuzzy so cant make out the tubing decals.

Good point! I was unaware of the components options until you pointed them out and I checked the catalog. That could an Edco crankset in the picture. However, there a few more details that favor a Performance. The blue is a little light for the Inter's team Blue, though that could be due to camera exposure. More importantly, the Inter had a tab for a racing number and chrome, drive side, chain stay and dropout. The Performance and bicycle in question do not have these features. However, I am hoping that you are correct, as it would be nice if Compulsivebikr got an Inter frame with 531C.
