Nobody knows anything about this bike, so I'll just ask: Is it worth $500?

Its no POS but a decent midrange late 1990s (???) sports road bike with butted chromoly frame and entry level Campy (Avanti???)bits. $500 is quite a high price.

I realize that your all hot to trot over a Bianchi
(and they are worthy bikes) but I'd look for Campione or higher.
Of course the prize is gonna be SuperLeggera or Specialissima,
but other Bianchi's are/were very nice bikes.
Remember, the componentry may be all over the place and
not original but that is always replacable.

Thanks lotek. Your feedback is what I'm actually looking for - a ranking system of 80's Bianchi steels. So far its Alfana<Campione<Superleggera of Speciallissima?
What about the Bravura? :o

SCC,

I'm not sure of the actual heirarchy of Bianchi models, its been a while
I think the Brava (sic?) was a mid level bike, between alfana and Campione ?
somewhere in there the limited goes too (japanese built but nice bike).
There was discussion of a large superissima recently that was on ebuy,
and last I saw didn't have any bids. You might want to contact seller if
it fits (I believe it was 60cm?).
So, quick question what is it exactly you're looking for?
I'm guessing Steel, higher end bike race geometry? does it have to be
Italian? Some other marques are just as good if not better but may not
have the history of Bianchi.

Marty

[edit] well Duh, it was you that posted about the 16# bianchi superissima. . .

Might be worth that--as a good example of the last of an era--because, it was not too long after that they were made in Taiwan, e.g., my '01 Bianchi Vig was welded in Taiwan (lugless type--very clean) and came with Shimano Ultegra. Around '01 was was about the time that road bikes switched from quill to threadless stems. The geometry was good for me; I had a 63c and that probably is the same, e.g. ~60 c-to-c (seems more like ~61 c-c). The pic is a bit fuzzy so the stem on that bike isn't very clear--maybe it looks better up close (e.g., probably an open-faced stem and that's convenient). :)

I might have pulled the trigger if it wasn't a triple and had a nice quill stem. I'd take it for $300.00 as is..too late anyhow.
