I used to wear leg warmers on my commute when I worked as a welder. I felt like Jennifer Beals every day. If you feel like doing some serious googling on Army/Navy surplus sites, the Swiss Army makes some wool gaiters that are the bee's knees. I'm surprised the Rivendell catalogue doesn't have them.

Sers -

Are you wearing them UNDER your shorts, so that the shorts help keep them up?

I only wear them with my bike shorts, or else they'll roll down after a few blocks. Bike shorts will keep them from falling. The pearl izumi's are nice, but I think you can find the same with performance or similar house brands.

I've got some Sugoi's that are fleece lines and some that are unlined. They stay up without shorts. Sometimes I forget to take them off when I enter the building and wear them pretty much all day. I think I may be developing a problem....

I have a 11 year old set of Assos knee warmers. They still fit well and never bunch up. definitely worth the bucks.

my legwarmers are just thick cotton. i got them from my friend lizxnn's freebox and honestly they were the best thing i've ever gotten from a freebox. they keep my calves warm in some unhappy new england temperatures.
