It finally happened to me on the way to work.

Waiting at a red light, a cyclist blew past me on his upright just as the light turned green, before I even got my feet on the pedals (I was only 2 miles from work, so I wasn't in a big hurry.) It irked me, because I had no warning and he split between me and the traffic on my left. We could easily have collided when I took off, and it's not the first time it's been done to me by another cyclist.

Next came the long downhill. He was caught at the next light, so I timed the green. As he took off, I tailed him for a little way until I knew he was at his top speed. He was fighting some gusty winds, too.
I revved up and motored.

:D

I don't remember shooting past anyone so quickly in my life! I really like this recumbent thing...

Excellent, my bent is almost finished and I can't wait to experience the same. Riding my road bike last night I struggled against a headwind. Down here we have some fierce winds.

And that can happen 'bent vs. 'bent! I have a friend who had a Windcheetah trike w/fairing. No one could pass him & and no one could catch him on descents either! OK, maybe Leo could. He has a fully faired Gold Rush & rides about 200 miles a week & a hundred on Saturday.
Fairings are unfair! (but I want one!)
