Mountain Biking - Man, I have the worst luck ever...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just hate this, today while trying to straighten my rim (done it before) I overdo it and my rim is now bent to the inside and completely whack.

I just hate when stuff like this happens, the ugly part of the sport, damn, I'm so pissed off now.

Your sub-conscious mind is serious wanting a new wheelset isn't it? :D :D

I've been riding for years, and of all the DIY stuff I do, wheels still go the LBS. So don't kick yourself too hard. I'd probably done the same.

Go to your LBS, they might be able to "True" Your rim.

I don't think its "trueable" and in any case I prefer to buy a single economic rim than have a weakened old one trued.

Well, look at the bright side, I'm now almost forced to buy a new bike, I'll get my old bike serviced for optimal use and I just got new gloves! (Black Specialized XC Team Long if anyone cares).

For me, the only thing that goes to the lbs is my fork. I have vowed never to work on it myself again :)
