I have begun doing some planks and find that they help my core as I make long climbs into the Blue Ridge mountains. Anybody else do them? How many and for how long? I do one for 1 1/2 minutes, rest 30 seconds and then repeat. This is the last exercise that I do after some weight lifting. They are tough for sure but I think they will help as the season gets underway. Anybody else do them?
yup. i'm a sissy though and can't hold them for that long. i tend to do 30ish seconds and repeat 3 times.
I just restarted them. So far I'm up to 60 sec X 2. They're good exercise, I've found in the past.
I do them about 15 minutes before the rest of my workout. that way, I have full strength to devote to them, but plenty of time to rest up before I do the rest of my exercises.
BTW I hate them!!!!! The most boring of all exercises, and they make me feel funny. But I know they work, so I do them. (usually :))
