Training & Nutrition - HRM Recommendations (Cycling / Running)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am looking to get an HRM for both cycling and running. I want something that would work between the two for mild training purposes. I would like it to have cadence and a PC link possibly. I have been looking at some of the Polar products but haven't found one that I am sure of yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that would work between the two sports?

For cycling, definitely you have to get the cycling related models.

Whereas for running, you really do not have to choose any special models. You can use the cycling related HRM for running as well.

I have the S710 which I use for both running and cycling. One good thing is that with the heart touch function on monitor, you can easily store lap times. It is very good but still it depends on what sort of functions you want. Any HRM with cycling functions should do.
