It is like new, 400 Euros and in some ways superior to Brommy (lighter, 4 speeds, brakes) and in some not (folds a little bigger)... I like it though. Tempted...

What do you guys think/second opinion?

Until I looked at it, I was going to reply that for that price you could get a new basic Brompton..

But then I looked at it. I think it seems pretty good in some aspects: better brakes, more gears, racks & lighting that you don't get on the C3). As you say, folds bigger. If you have a chance to ride it it would be interesting to hear how it is. Batavus is a decent quality Dutch brand, isn't it? Their new 2006 folders start at only E449 though..

Maybe so in Britain, not in Belgium, though. A Brompton will cost you 800 Euro minimum. That's why I don't like Brompton.
Batavus may be a quality-manufacturer when it concerns 26"bicycles. This folder did notreally convince me when I testdrove it last autumn: doesn't feel stiff enough. Batavus makes these folders with help from Dahon (if I'm not mistaking)

Ah nice to have some input from someone who has ridden it!

I don't think i'll go for it actually. Batavus is the best Dutch brand together with Gazelle and both have made decent to great folders for the last 30 years.

Here too a Brompton will set you back E 750 new minimum.

I've seen quite a few in the Netherlands, & even tried to buy one a few years back, I did hear that there was some drag on the belt which goes around the idler roller, also that early rollers were known to fail. But all heresay as I didn't actually buy one......
