First was Disney Goofy Challange (1/2 marathon on Saturday and Marathon on Sunday back to back) in January. I will be starting up a local TT series soon, Boston Marathon coming up in April then 1/2 Ironman Triathlon Florida in May. After that my season really gets hard :)

April 8, in Puyallup, WA. It's a real shorty - 400 yd pool swim indoors, 9 mile bike, 2 mile run. I'm not sure how the swim will be managed, given that the number of swimmers greatly exceeds the number of lanes. I suppose some sort of interval start.

North Shore Triathlon - May 27 - 400m swim/10 mile bike/3 mile run
That one sounds like fun. What was up with the monsoon rains today? It took me forever to get to the airport from the Waikiki area!
I swam at Ala Moana Beach Park earlier this week. Not ideal but a pretty cool setup...too bad the water is so murky....it was only about 72 though...brrrrrrrrr.
Got propositioned by a Mahu on Kuhio...Yikes!!!

Um, the water is usualy still cold enough for our first race the first weekend of June to cause a couple cases of hypothermia....
Muskoka Long course-First weekend of june; 2km swim/60km bike/15km run
It is an IM qualifier, I am trying to get a spot for Florida. Not to many guys in the 18-24 category go for the spots, so I hope I have a chance.

April 9th will be a Duathlon in Hinckley.
5k run, 24k bike, 5k run.
First run, bike, run since '98 in Central Park.
First race? Hypothermic half marathon, Jan 29th.
First triathlon? There's an indoor swim one May 20th, but I'll likely skip it and have my first tri June 17th. (Even then, the water will still be very cold).

Got propositioned by a Mahu on Kuhio...Yikes!!!Hey CJ, welcome to the islands! The rains have been intense here the last few weeks. Some unfortunate homeowners on the Windward side have had large chunks of their yards washed away by floods.
After dark, Waikiki is swarming with Mahus. Some of these guys are BIG! It can be a bit scary to be approached by a 6', 240 lb. Samoan/Hawaiian dude in a dress and full makeup.
Hopefully it will stop raining for at least a little while today so you can enjoy Hawaii winter. But looking at the sky this morning, I don't think so...
Have fun and stay dry - Aloha :)

Actually I was there Monday thru Thursday...I drove to the airport in the rain yesterday. The weather was actually nice for my visit but I spent most of it working. Got out for a couple of runs and swims. Should be back sometime soon.

Careful, they get you hooked with those short cheap sprints, and before you know it, you'll be dishing out hundreds to race in an ironman. You need to get help before it's too late!
:D
I'm joking of course, welcome to the sport.

I signed up for the creighton indoor tri. I have been practicing rowing one day a week at school. I don't know anything about technique, but it has not been too difficult. If you have access to a gym with a rowing machine just jump on it and do 2500-3000m to see what it is like.

I just got into a pace and the miles clicked off, it was faster than my normal pace and I'm paying for it this week.

I know the feeling. My fastest 1/2 was about 10 min slower than your time and I walked like a penguin for a week!!!

I did a half marathon on Superbowl Sunday, at mile 8 I was on my way to PR, then I got a massive calf cramp. I had to stop and stretch it out, finally made it in, only about 4 minutes slower than last year, but I was pumped to knock off 5 min or more.
Oh well, the calf is better and this weekend is the Spring Fling Duathlon. Hope I don't do a T2 near barf like last year.
Oh, and I better fix that flat!

I got a leg cramp during the run of my last tri last year. It was a killer!!! I know the feeling, Anbaric Cog. It ended up being a hydration issue, not drinking enuff during the bike.
