Advocacy & Safety - Daily Entertainment

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

No offense to anyone here...

Lately I've been reading the A&S threads as a form of entertainment. Anyone else?

There's always the Jokes forum, or if you really want to laugh, check out Politics and Religion.

I read my own posts a few months (or minutes) later to get a good laugh.
More along the lines of "WTF? What was I thinking?"

Don't forget the dippy hippies' meditations on altering the social experiment on the "bicycle" thread whose name shan't be mentioned.

I do the same when I reply to Mad Hatters' rhetoric. Why waste the electrons?

Some threads are enteraining. Some are informative. Some are boring. Just like the rest of the forums.

I really don't see this thread developing into anything worthwhile. But it will give a chance to those who prefer to flame rather than contribute.

Then there are the really serious ones who state the obvious and can't lighten up for a minute.

I've had to make adjustments. I'm actually a pretty funny guy in real life but I do take cycling advocacy seriously so I've had to occasionally walk away from the computer and go for a bike ride when the A&S forum overwhelms me with aggravation. But it is entertaining, otherwise it really wouldn't be worth the time- and it's been a great winter distraction- though if I worked out or rode the bike or practiced a foreign language or a musical instrument for the all the hours I've spent on these threads I'd probably be a little better for it.

So, yeah, I've been entertained and I've learned some stuff and been motivated to get more involved with local advocacy at the same time.

Did I take this thread too seriously?

Funny thing is, the more flames, the bigger the thread gets.

Good news doesn't sell papers.
