My new Bianchi rig came with Campy Veloce EXCEPT for the Avid shorty brakes. Those brakes have to go. Right freakin' now. So I'm thinking Paul Touring canti's (both sets $$$) and then I see Campy has a Veloce V brake. The fine print states they are for their FLAT BAR version of Veloce (Veloce FB) only. So I'm thinking maybe a Problem Solver Adjustable Travel Agent may be the cure for that.

Any one done it? Any other commentary on this? I want no further compromise in power and no damn squeal (like everyone else).

the pads squeak, not the brake. try different pads, changing brakes probably won't lose the squeal. And power is all about the setup, I've seen a lot of people running the Avid's and they have no problem.

My LBS built a Kaffenbach frame up with 105 Brifters and some brand o' v brakes. No adapters. Stops REAL quick.

yeah i dont think mini v's require travel agents.

whats wrong with the avid brakes? they can be adjusted easily so that they dont squeal. I dialed mine in while i was waiting for a commuter train one day.

I'm still working on it. I like to have a plan 'B', which given the Avids reputation, seems prudent. The Veloce brakes seems an elegant proposition.

Back in your cave Merton!

They make a decent product. Seems their canti's are love' em or hate 'em, though. I'm trying to love 'em.
