BMX - track building

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

me and my friend(roughrider504) decided to build a track in the front of my neighborhood. The front of my neighborhood is woods, and there is a straight through path in between two sides of the woods. The path leads to this ditch, the path isnt very long. What we are planning to do this upcoming saturday, is to take rakes(spell?) and clear up the path for the main course of the track, just to get an idea of what it will be like. We are doing this because there are alot of leaves and branchs everywhere. My question is, we are gong to be doing bmx and cyclocross, what are some good tips you guys can give us on building this "track"? This would be our first time, and we hope and pray not to go to crazy with this track so we dont end up in the hospital, since we are newbs into the whole track thing. So comments and idea's are welcome :)
