Training & Nutrition - Anyone read the recovery article in this month's "Outside" magazine?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Interesting feature on recovery http://www.outsidemag.com/bodywork/index.html
Advocates eating carbs and protein immediately following your ride (best within 30 min I believe) in order to maximize muscle recovery.
I've been trying this as much as possible lately and it does seem to help. Anyone else doing this or tried it?

I've heard the same thing, I believe it was in Men's Health or a similar magazine last year. I've tried it too, and yes I think it does help.

Thanx for the link, riderx. Lots of good stuff out there... finding it is the hard part.
The protein thing is new to me. I've always avoided anything that's harder to digest for an hour or so after a ride. Maybe it's time to try something different.
Thanks for a very good link. I found the tables at the end of the article so good, I saved them for future use. (Lists of various foods and what they're especially good for.)
Outside magazine tends to have some decent articles about training and fitness. I subscribe, but it's nice that they put the stuff online so I can refer people to it. Things don't get posted until after the print issue is out for a little while, but they put it up pretty quick.
