Touring - "Serratus" panniers once again available at MEC

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A number of people here have commented on the disappearance of the Serratus brand, formerly carried by MEC and makers of solid panniers (and my waterproof overbooties). I am pleased to report that the MEC site once again has "Serratus" panniers. I say "Serratus" because while they have been re-branded MEC, they are the same panniers Serratus use to make. They even include the famous "Aqua-Not" among them.

Good news for MEC members. :)

Some of the items are marked "Not available online" and suggest you ring the office in Vancouver for info.

I already comented on this, but I hadn't seen them yet, I'm glad they pass muster.

Seratus are very simple in design, but just seem to work well. I'm not sure why they punched the daisy chain onto the lid, doesn't bode well for rainproofness, and there is plenty of rack to tie stuff to in that area.

I think I saw someone had a full set of used ones on the MEC classified page?

That's nice to know. I have a full set and they have worked great for me.
