Folding Bikes - Recumbents Created From Dahon Folders

The homemade conversion ends up as unfoldable bike.

These guys (http://www.baccura.com/id60.htm) don't have a great reputation in the recumbent world: they're innovative, but usually can't deliver. Caveat emptor.

I pity that guy with the homemade sortoff. He put so much work into a Rusty ***. Now is it is a rusty recumbent ***. Seems kindoff like a waste of time. I'd like to see one of these done on a Twenty. :)

I don't think his recumbent work is bad, but I'm sure he's not thought of everything. For example, what will the fold look like? I don't think he can fold that thing cleanly and not twist the chain in some ungodly manner.

As far as the Brompton modification goes, Juliane's solution was well thought out, but you still had to remove the belt drive in order to get the fold. And when it is folded, you need a bungee cord to hold it together. However, what got me was the price: $2500 USD. For that, I'd rather consider BF's new SatRDay.

Not a folder, but here is a rather sad looking recumbent Twenty conversion I photographed at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Mid Wales a couple of years ago.
