my subscription to BMX PLUS! is over and i like both Ride and BMX PLUS! so im going to get both...so i guess

BMX Plus! is the worst magazine ever.

I like Ride BMX, and Ride UK. Ride UK is better I think just because it's fricken huge(compared to Ride BMX).

Ride UK is easily twice as thick as Ride US, and there aren't nearly as many ads, and they actually cover things other than contests and Props roadtrips.

BMX Plus! is the worst magazine ever.
I like BMX PLUS!, i started gettin it when i was in 4th grade and got into BMX, and it was always a good magazine becuase its clean as far as no curse words here and there (my mom liked that) and it always explained things in easy to use terms(or at least could understand them as a 4th grader...)

I used to get BMX Plus!, too. Then I realized that Adam Booth couldn't shoot a decent photo if his life depended on it, and I got tired of seeing the price in parantheses next to every item mentioned in the magazine. And, of course, the fact that they cover pretty much nothing but contests.

edit: And any magazine that dedicates entire issues to lake jumping and a t-shirt guide is automatically graded an 'F'.

I read BMX Plus! in Australia, because it's so very biased towards SoCal. I know that I can open it and see photos from LA and Ventura County. But it's a bit on the lame side.

It's beyond the pale as far as lame goes. Aside from contests and races, and articles that were written for three-year olds by people with the grammar skills of three-year olds, they only cover SoCal. At least Ride sends Fudger and Jeff Z all over the place, even if they don't really get to do (style-wise and art-wise) what they want to.

I'm waiting for a mag that doesn't have foul language. That will be my favorite.

There was a UK one that I read too. I t was huge, lots of good stuff, but I needed princing info from the US. Crap, I bought mags for the ads.

I also like Sound And Vision's annual buyer's guide.

And Consumer Reports.

That's funny, because I've got well over fifty Ride mags, and I don't remember anything worse than "ass" being used in them, nor can I think of anything offensive in any of them.

Well, one might suspect the writers are all 12-15, but there's still no foul language. There's also not much in the way of meaningful content.

Cycling Weekly, Cycle Sport, Pro Cycling (all UK). Not swamped by ads, no moronic letters or silly items, no " turn to page x and then to page y and then to page z" to complete the articles. Well-written articles, objective reviews etc.

They use 'sh*t' in Ride fairly often, I think. They censor out beer logos and drinking for some reason though... Not sure why, they aren't allowed to say sh*t on TV but they're allowed to show drinking, and beer logos.

the first issue of ride i got there was a thing about matt hoffman on one of the first pages and they said Sh;t in the first line if i recall

I read BMX Plus!(ive been gettin that since 1999) and Ride(i just started gettin Ride, before i would just buy it every once in a while...)
