I'm headed to Central America and will be flying into Guatemala City and out of Panama City. So it looks like I'll be using an cardboard box to fly down there and will have to be creative on the way back. I'm going to be taking a BOB trailer and am concerned about that. Should I pack that into a cardboard box as well? Does anyone know airlines protocols on flying with bikes. I'm prepared to pay extra, but am unsure how much and with which airline. My head starts spinning when I think about dealing with the airlines. Anyones input \ exerience would be helpful. Thanks.

It'll probably be around $200.00, as I understand it, for the bike and trailer. Have you checked into shipping it to the hotel you'll be staying at on arrival? As an alternative, have you thought about making arrangements with a bike shop down there to ship to and assemble your bike and trailer? Just a couple of thoughts! Not sure whether that would work, but it might make your life simpler! They could also tear down, pack and ship both back as well! You might look into it!
