Well, I was walking around Sunday afternoon when I decided to go bargain hunting. I decided to go see if the local pawn shops had anything decent, and see if anything was a great steal. Sadly all the places had some nice bikes and they knew it. But one place I found (the only one that showcased the bikes out on the street) had something that got my eye. No, not the shiny new Huffy sitting there for way too much money... but a Specialized M2 Team Edition.. It also says Duralcan on it (Not entirely sure what bike I got, but it caught my eye). So I decided to look it over.

Marzzochi Z5 Alloy Fork
All XT Components
Shimano Deiore Pedals
Ritchey Force Stem
And a nice frame with only some paint chipped off, no cracks.

This is just the basics of the bike, but I went in and asked how much... The sticker said $325 and the guy said "give me $200." Well I was looking for a complete steal and wasnt prepared to pay 200 for it, as I wasnt completly sure if I was getting a deal or not. So I said, I'll give you $125 right now. He looked, laughed, and then said "Fine... I have too many bikes here."

So, was this a steal or not? I have it home right now and am very excited looking at it. Can't wait to rebuild it and give it to my girlfriend...(Now she has no excuse but to ride with me) :D

What year are the components?
If they're relatively new, then you just ripped the poor guy off.

I don't know about the bike itself. But for the components and fork that is pretty close. Depending on the year of the fork anyways. I would say you got a deal.

Yeah those components alone are worth much more than 125 bucks. You could throw away the frame and STILL be getting a good deal!

Yeah, its a steal... probably literally. My first Specialized bike ended up in a pawn shop after it was stolen. I had to buy it to get it back. I doubt the shop owner paid more than 50 bucks for it.
