Has anyone taken a Downtube on a plane in a regular hard suitcase? Please share any experiences, positive or negative.

I have the FS model. It wasn't difficult but I did undo the rear shock to make it fit. Took off the wheels as well. Not the most compact folder but a little work and it will fit in a hard suitcase. I used a Samsonite F'lite 31" but had room to spare. I probably could have used a smaller hard case but that was all I had.

Finding This information online (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=160524) is easier than actually doing it.

Hope it helps.
