Mountain Biking - have you heard of "Biscayne"?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have come into possession (fully legally, officer!) of a 1990s-vintage Biscayne Trident hardtail mountain bike. A search on Google (and in the BikeForums) for the company turns up nothing. Have you heard of that company? Are they still around, but lacking a Web presence? Were they bought up by someone else? Enquiring minds would like to know.
Only time I've heard that name was in reference to an ol' Chevy, or to an older bay

I'm stumped! Never heard of it. Perhaps it's English or European.
I've been working in bike shops off and on for the last 18 years and I've never come across that one!

Biscayne bicycles is a small company that builds custom bike frames. I don't know much else about them, but I've heard the name mentioned here and there. I think if you search the back pages of bike magazines you might find a small add for them. I can't remember where, but I recently saw a half page add for the company. btw, I'd hold onto that frame if I were you.

Thanks for the info, MtnMike. I'd be very surprised if the Biscayne you're describing is the same company that made this bike, simply because the bike (when new) cost less than USD $300. I'm assuming -- maybe incorrectly -- that a custom-built frame alone would cost at least that much!
If you remember which magazine you saw the Biscayne ad in (great grammar, eh?), please post it here. I'd like the contact information.

Ah, the joys of sitting around on a snowy day browsing the internet instead of working....
I looked but was unable to find the magazine add in either Dirt Rag, or Bike magazine which are the only 2 I read... I was also unable to find a link on the net :( in a quick search. I'll keep looking though cuase now you have me curious about this company.
