...or maybe its too fair.

I just saw an old couple....easily upper 60's ride by my house. The bloke was on a SC Blur with a fox fork, and the woman was on a Felt roadie. They were both doing about 5mph on the sidewalk and looked like that was as fast as they could go.

Not fair cause i cant afford a ride that nice. But i suppose it is fair...by the time im thier age id hope i have a tricked out ride too :)

Ahem, sorry, just had to rant.

Maybe they were just finishing up a century or something.. lol

But I guess, if they have the money, why not spend it on bikes they'd enjoy.

Yeah thats what i thought too. I figure they have worked hard thier whole life to enjoy nice things, so good on em. Although i think a blur with a fox fork is a little bit too much bike for 5mph on the sidewalk. ;)

Just watch though, ill do the same thing when im old.... :D

All the more reason to study hard and work hard.

Should have taken a pic or chatted them up. Find out the story, maybe they're cyclists that were just going for a leisure ride. Maybe the Mrs. was hitting a velodrome later that week and Mr. was the anchor on a 24-hour team.

Actually, what's not fair is the way you abused that poor "s" by cramming it onto the end of "life" without the apostrophe is so plainly deserved. It wanted so badly to express the genitive case, but instead was relegated to the position of a misspelled plural. Ok, just kidding. ;)

Actually, the not fair part comes from the fact that someday you are going to be 60 years old, riding around at a leisurely pace on your $3,000 mountain bike, not truly taking advantage of what it can do, because you're getting old. It seems the times when we can do the most (physically at least), is when we have the least.

Ok, sorry to rain on everybody's beautiful Sunday morning. I guess it's part of my quarter-life crisis.

One of my favorite mtb racers is a guy who is about 70, sponsored (forever) by Kenda. He's just a delight to talk to, and obviously enjoys the whole biking thing, as does his wife (but she doesn't race). More power to the older folks who know what they want, can afford it, and actually use their purchases! (and I'm not saying this becuase I just turned 50......)

I was at my LBS. And 2 old ladys came in. They eash test rided RM Flow 3.0's. They said,
"Well, I guess we will take them." And up here, they run for $1500.

Isn't the Flow a dirt jumping bike? Man, I'd be pretty much forever owned if an old lady got more air than me.

It is, but I don't think that is what they intened to do. I think they said they were going up to Whislter. Who knows, they might be in Crank Works. PHHH HAHA.

You know what they say; Youth is wasted on the young!

They have most likely worked hard their whole lives and now are reaping their rewards. Good for them!

Spend it while you got it cuz you can't take it w/ you. So they were doing 5 mph. At least they were out getting exercise and not on line for the early bird special.
